For the very first time in our history, Ingleside will host the annual meeting of the Georgia Baptist Convention (GBC) beginning this Sunday evening, November 9. We are expecting 1,200+ guests on our campus, and you are invited!
No special credentials are required to attend the Georgia Baptist Convention sessions. All Inglesiders and our guests are invited to participate. Our church is actually allowed 15 voting messengers, but everyone can get in on the music and messages of this yearly assembly. So, please join us for any or all as your schedule allows.
A full program outline of the annual meeting is available here. In addition, I’ve highlighted below a few times that may be of special interest.
Sunday, November 9, 6:00 – 7:45 p.m.
Our own Ingleside Worship Arts team will be leading musically in the opening inspirational service in our Worship Center. Speakers will include J. Robert White, the GBC Executive Director and Mel Blackaby, pastor at First Baptist Church, Jonesboro.
Monday night, November 10
6:00 p.m. – Singers and songwriters, Keith and Kristyn Getty, who wrote the song In Christ Alone, will be leading in musical worship several times throughout the evening.
7:15 p.m. – Don Hattaway, President of the Convention and pastor at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Cartersville, will speak.
Tuesday, November 11
4:35 p.m. – With more than 200 singers and players, the Jubal Chorus, comprised of worship leaders from churches all across Georgia, are scheduled for a 30-minute musical presentation.
5:05 p.m. – Bill Elliff, pastor at The Summit Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, will speak.
Please join me in offering the warmest welcome and most gracious hospitality possible as fellow Baptists from all around our state gather at Ingleside. Our staff and volunteers (more than 200 people are serving in various ways) are committed to doing more than the minimum so that, by the Lord’s grace, all who attend will feel encouragement and delight. I know that our investment will edify the body of Christ and will bring great glory to God.
It’s an honor to be your pastor and a joy to be on this journey with you. And, I remain convinced that the best is yet to come!
