Traditional Service Resumes October 18

In today’s blog I want you to know about (1) plans to re-start our traditional worship service; (2) adjustments to our Sunday worship schedule; and (3) new Overseer officers elected for the coming year.

Traditional Worship Re-start.  We began to re-gather for in-person, on-campus worship on Sunday, June 14.

At first, we had only two blended services in our Worship Center.  Then, on September 13 we added back our contemporary worship serve and kids worship.

Now, we are preparing to resume our traditional worship service on Sunday, October 18.  As was the case pre-pandemic, we will meet in the Chapel at 8:30 a.m.

Reservations will be required and seating will be limited to 25% of capacity (125 worshipers).  We will practice social distancing, and face coverings are strongly encouraged. Limited preschool care by reservation will be available.

Sunday Worship Schedule Revision.  As we re-start our traditional worship service on October 18, the overall schedule will be as follows:

8:30 – 9:30 a.m. Traditional (Chapel)
9:15 – 10:15 a.m. Blended (Worship Center)
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Blended (Worship Center)
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Contemporary (Multi-Purpose Gym)

Of course, if because of your age or health situation it’s still wisest and best for you to continue to worship with us online only, please do so with my understanding, blessing, and encouragement.  We anticipate that the livestream will continue indefinitely.

But, if you are re-engaging most every other area of life (school, work, extracurricular activities with your kids), then I hope you will make your reservation now and join us for in-person, on-campus worship at Ingleside (seating is limited to 25% of capacity, we practice social distancing, and face coverings are strongly encouraged).

Scripture is clear.  It’s good for us and glorifies God when we gather in Jesus’ name (Hebrews 10:24-25).

So, I look forward to worshiping with you in-person or online this Sunday!

Overseer Officers Elected.  At our meeting on Tuesday night, September 22, our Overseers elected new officers.

Ben Hobbs will serve as Chairman, and Joel Judah will serve as Secretary for the coming year.

The other members of the Board of Overseers are:  Louis Abbott, Jim Bright, David Bruce, Kraig Collins, B.J. Fair, David Goode, Jimmie Meece, Jonathan Moore, Nick Morgan, and Glenn Smith.

I’m very thankful for the strong, healthy leadership partnerships that have existed in our church for many years, and I look forward to working with these new leaders in the days ahead.

And, I’m very grateful for you and your partnership in the gospel.  I remain convinced that the best is yet to come!
