Summer Missions

My first international mission trip occurred 34 years ago in the summer of 1980.  Over ten weeks, my journey included training in Manila, Philippines, and then preaching/teaching in Singapore, East Malaysia, and Brunei.

As a 22-year-old soon to begin seminary, this trip taught me so much.  Above all, it taught me the power of the gospel.  Even though culture and language were significant challenges, I saw firsthand how the Holy Spirit used the Word to bring people to faith in Jesus Christ.  I saw up close how God was at work to redeem his people from “every tribe and language and people and nation” (Revelation 5:9).

So, it brings me great joy to report that this summer many Inglesiders will go with the gospel.  Join me in praying for students and adults from our church as they prepare and go on the following mission trips:

  • June 1-10                      Southeast Asia (high school trip)
  • June 19-28                   Central Asia
  • July 13-19                     New Orleans (middle school trip)
  • July 14-20                   Haiti
  • July 15-23                   Alaska (high school trip)
  • July 19-28                   Russia
  • September 13-20       Peru

Our Lord Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20, ESV).

I’m grateful to be part of a church that is committed to going with the gospel – locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally (an Acts 1:8 missions strategy).  For more information on how you can be involved, contact our Missions Minister, Lisa Call or attend the Missions Orientation Class on Sunday, June 22, at 4:00 p.m.

I’m confident that our Heavenly Father is pleased and greatly glorified as we share the gospel and make disciples!

Membership Class

Our next monthly membership class will be Sunday afternoon, June 8, at 4:00 p.m.  If you are new to Ingleside, this class is a great way to find out quickly about the vision and values of our church.  Completion of this class is also a requirement for membership.

Thinking about attending?  No reservation is required.  Dress is casual.  A snack supper and childcare is provided.  Come in the east entrance to the Worship Center and a greeter will provide directions.

It’s a great joy and privilege to be your pastor and friend.
