Today’s blog provides information about the upcoming Semi-Annual Church Conference, Preschool Ministry on Sunday mornings, and the completed High School Ministry facility renovation.
Semi-Annual Church Conference
On Wednesday night, August 26, at 6:30 p.m. we will gather for our Semi-Annual Church Conference in the Chapel.
The key items on the agenda include the adoption of the annual budget and the election of Overseers and Deacons. Our total budget for 2021 remains unchanged from last year at an amount of $7,100,000. You can see a summary of the proposed budget here.
In terms of Overseers and Deacons, David Bruce, Jim Bright, BJ Fair, and Jonathan Moore have all been nominated for a three-year Overseer term. Kraig Collins has been nominated to fill a two-year Overseer term. Bryan Mitchell has been nominated to serve as a Deacon. You can learn more about each of these men here.
Sunday Morning Preschool Ministry
We plan to offer programming for preschoolers (6 weeks – 4K) beginning Sunday, August 23, at both the 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. services. Space will be limited and is by reservation only. At this point, you may sign your child up for one but not both services. Check-in will be touchless, spaces will be routinely sanitized, and staff and volunteers will wear face coverings. You can read more details about what to expect and how to register your preschooler here.
High School Ministry Facility Renovation
In our February 26 Semi-Annual Church Conference, the church approved a renovation project of our High School Ministry facility which we sometimes refer to as “Across the Street.” That project began May 26 and will be completed this week. All told, seven new small group spaces were constructed, the audiovisual system was upgraded, new finishes were added throughout, and old furnishings were updated. It’s a beautiful facility that will help us expand our vision of making disciples of high school students.
We plan to host an Open House in that space on August 23 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. The purpose will be to provide brief tours, answer questions, and facilitate prayer and blessing over the space and ministry. Reservations are necessary, and households will remain socially distanced. You can sign up for a tour and prayer time here.
I hope you’ll pray for each of the items noted above. May the Lord bless you as you continue to navigate these strange times!
In the Spirit,
