In a business, at a school, on a team, or in a church, everything rises and falls on leadership. Leadership always matters!
That’s why we have worked for many years to develop a healthy leadership culture at Ingleside.
In ministry after ministry throughout our church, hundreds of leaders (both staff and volunteers) exercise their gifts in support of our common purpose: to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the glory of God.
If you are among those many Ingleside leaders, I am grateful for you and your service to the Lord!
Overseer leadership. One group of leaders elected by our church each year are members of our Board of Overseers.
The process begins as our church family provides recommendations for our Nominating Committee to consider.
So, if you have a recommendation, we would love to know. More information and the recommendation form are online here.
Deacon leadership. We typically receive recommendations each year for those who will be nominated to serve on the Deacon Ministry Team as well.
However, our Overseers recently decided to join me in taking a fresh look in light of Scripture at the role of Deacons at Ingleside.
Since we currently have more than fifty Deacons serving on this ministry team, we will not receive new recommendations for Deacon until the study is complete.
Of course, any proposed changes to our Bylaws recommended by our Overseers at the completion of the study will be communicated widely and voted on by our Church.
Leadership influence. Scripture is clear that God uses good leaders to help the church flourish and accomplish its mission.
So, join me in praying that God will continue to give our church leaders of integrity and skill – leaders with both character and competence (cf. Psalm 78:72).
