Join Me at the Church Picnic
I hope you have already marked your calendars and are planning to be at Ingleside on Wednesday night, June 30, for our annual church picnic.
Watch this short video and review the Q&A below to get a good idea of what is in store.
Where is the picnic held? Again this year, our picnic will be held on our church campus on Wimbish Road. We will have huge tents set up on the west side of our Worship Center
What time does it start? Folks start to arrive as early as 5:00 p.m. for fellowship. Dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. The Lord’s Supper and baptism follow dinner. It all wraps up by 8:00 p.m.
What about the food? The individually boxed meals will be provided by our Ingleside food service team, so you won’t need to bring any food. It will help us know how many to prepare for, however, if you reserve your meal and seat here.
What about seating? Seating is provided around tables under the big tents, but you may want to bring a lawn chair with you as well – either for seating outside the tents or for the baptism time around the lake.
What should I wear? Come dressed casually. This is an outdoor event, so wear something cool and comfortable—and modest!
What else happens at the church picnic? Following our meal, we will worship through song and then celebrate the Lord’s Supper. Then, we’ll gather around “Lake Ingleside” where our Ingleside pastors will baptize all who want to publicly confess their faith in Jesus Christ.
What if I want to be baptized? If you want to be baptized, get the conversation going by emailing baptism@ingleside.org and we will help you know how to take the next steps.
I look forward to seeing you at the picnic on June 30!
Preschool Ministry Staff Transition
I want to let you know that Ginny Fillingim, our Preschool Minister, will transition off our team on Thursday, July 15. She has accepted a position teaching in the public school system in Pensacola, Florida, where she will be closer to her mother, brother, and other family.
Ginny has served on our team since October 17, 2007 and has done an outstanding job in her role as Preschool Minister. In addition to leading our regular Preschool Ministry programming, she has led a staff that is responsible for Childcare, Mother’s Morning Out, and Weekday Preschool.
We are very thankful for her leadership and praise the Lord for the ministry that she has been able to have with countless families. Hundreds of boys and girls and parents have been impacted by Ginny as she has had a strong commitment to helping young children learn foundational truths about the Lord in a fun and safe environment.
Ginny will be greatly missed, but we celebrate with her as she enters this new season. As you have opportunity, I hope you will express your appreciation to Ginny personally for her ministry at Ingleside over the past 13+ years.
In the coming days, we will outline a specific interim leadership plan as we search for our next Preschool Minister. I am confident that the Lord will provide.
It’s a great joy to be in this journey with you, and I’m convinced that the best is yet to come.
Your Pastor and Friend,
