God is favoring our High School Ministry at Ingleside with a new season of growth under the leadership of our High School Pastor, Brett Brandewie.
As a result of the growth, our Overseers are recommending that we renovate our “Across the Street” High School Ministry space (in the Wimbish Midtown Shopping Center) at an amount not-to-exceed $670,000.
This recommendation will be considered by our church at our Semi-Annual Church Conference on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at 7:45 p.m. in Room W-200.
What’s the scope of the work? We plan to construct more classroom/small group space (two levels), upgrade the audio, video, and lighting systems, and give a facelift to the entire facility (paint, flooring, décor, and furnishings).
Why is this needed? To accommodate the growth – especially in our small groups. The last renovation of this space was in 2008, and some of the production equipment dates all the way back to 2000.
How will we pay for it? The resources are available in our Capital Reserve Fund. The balance of this fund on January 31, 2020, stood at $1,728,387. Projects already approved, but not yet completed, total $231,119 (Worship Center chiller, security initiatives, fire alarm system), which would bring the balance to $1,497,268. So, if this project is approved, the remaining balance of the Capital Reserve Fund will be $827,268.
When will construction begin? If approved, we anticipate construction will begin shortly after Memorial Day and be completed in time for our fall kickoff on August 9, 2020. High School Ministry programming can be accommodated on a temporary basis during the summer in other spaces on campus.
How can I learn more? We have scheduled a “Town Hall” meeting for Q & A on Sunday, February 16, at 5:00 p.m. in room W-200. In addition, questions may be directed to our Executive Pastor, Andy Johnson.
I’m grateful to be part of a church that is reaching the next generation with the gospel of Jesus Christ. And I’m convinced that the best is yet to come!
