Now is the time for our church family to provide recommendations to our Nominating Committee to consider as potential nominees for Overseer and Deacon.
More information and the recommendation form are online here.
One of the strengths of our church across the years has been the quality and commitment of our leaders.
So, I hope you will prayerfully consider making a recommendation this year.
Cannonball or Steps?
There are at least two ways to get into a swimming pool, right?
One way is to go directly to the diving board and cannonball into the deep end.
Another way is to use the steps and wade into the shallow end a bit at a time.
The first way makes a bigger splash. The second way is more cautious. But either way, you are soon enjoying the water!
As our leaders and I are making plans toward re-gathering for worship on our campus, we are united in thinking that incremental steps are the path of wisdom.
So, as we put our foot back in the water we will likely limit the number of services and the number of participants in each service (by online advance reservations) so that we can maintain the recommended social distancing.
Then, assuming all goes well, we will gradually increase the number of services and the number of worshipers.
Of course, we plan to continue the livestream each Sunday for the foreseeable future. That way those who think it unwise for them to come to campus can continue to worship at home.
Gathering in Jesus’ name is good for us, commanded in Scripture, and honors God (Hebrews 10:24-25).
So, we are eager to return to on-campus worship – wisely, safely, and one step at a time.
Are you ready to wade back into the water?
