Not many of us get pumped up about processes, policies, and procedures. Yet, most of us do care deeply about outcomes and results. The truth is that the two are usually connected—even in the life of a church! Listen to the wisdom of the writer of the biblical book of Ecclesiastes:
“The wise heart will know the proper time and procedure. For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter.” (Ecclesiastes 8:5b-6a, NIV)

By this point in the month of August almost every school in our region is back in session. For many Ingleside families the rhythms of summer are giving way to the more structured cadences of a new school year.
I hope part of your pattern this fall will be regular participation in worship at Ingleside. So, if your schedule has kept you away more than usual this summer, I hope to see you back at church on Sunday!

After being away from Ingleside for a few weeks, I am really looking forward to seeing you and worshiping with you this Sunday.
I’m very grateful for the time to refuel, read, think, pray, and learn by visiting other churches. And, I’m very thankful for our pastoral team that leads in my absence. But, it is always better to come home!

At Ingleside, we have long taught, believed, and practiced a simple, biblical principle: every member should be a minister. Put another way, every member of our church family should have a role in serving others within the body in Jesus’ name. As the Apostle Paul wrote to the members of the churches of Galatia: “serve one another in love” (5:13, NIV).
